Welcome to this first Rumbling Stones conversation podcast from Abbey Of Soul as we enter the Equinox dark or light depending where in Earth you are.
In this podcast the amazing April (poet, activist, craftswoman, mother, and lover of stories) and Wendy (previous cultural historian, psychospiritual guide with mothers, now soul guide, poet, writer from mythos PI’A of Earth Mother) are in conversation with April’s new poetry book Matter/Mother.
We are in conversation with matters such as:
‘wild’ and ‘domestic’,
the outside-in and inside-out world of mothers in the current culture.
mothers and ‘re-production’ as exploitative commodity versus world-making, including human and ‘other-than-human’ world;
how the exploitation of Earth Mother mirrors exploitation of human Mother.
how current distorted mirrors impact Earth and mother’s disfigured lives and experiences of themselves in a culture that betrays them through internalisation leading to self-betrayal in the need for survival identities.
about a deeper story underneath particular current identifications leading to sincere truths at the centre we are born to live in tending the soul of the world in our unique ways.

the struggles and ‘lostness’ essential to remember clear voicing and ‘village’ in the ways grandmothers, mothers and daughters are braided together over centuries in our cells and with land that challenge discourses of individualism and more.
